Our special guest speaker was Dr. Thomas Pitts of Pitts Orthodontics in Reno, Nevada. His presentation, “Recapturing Orthodontics with Excellence,” focused on protocols for achieving beautiful facial-driven finishes. Elections occurred at the conference and the new officers listed above were installed. In addition, Dr. John Crawford continues to be our Director to MSO, and Drs. David L. Olsen, Charles Montour and Kevin Race were elected as trustees. Dr. Gerry Bradley from the Marquette School of Dentistry presented information on the Russell T. Kittleson Endowment Fund. The fund was started to supplement faculty income and assist in narrowing the salary discrepancy between those in private practice and those in faculty positions. The endowment fund is named after Dr. Russell T. Kittleson, who was instrumental in initiating the graduate training program in orthodontics at Marquette University in 1961. Russ currently serves as Adjunct Professor and has maintained continuous teaching service for forty-five years. He also has been actively involved in the major fundraising efforts for the new Marquette orthodontic department. If you would like more information on this fund, please contact Dr. Bradley at thomas.bradley@marquette.edu. The 2008 WSO fall meeting will be held October 5-7 at the Landmark Resort in Egg Harbor. Our speaker will be Howard M. Rochestie, JD, LLLM, co-owner and Board Chair of Mercer Advisors. Mr. Rochestie is a gifted speaker who has brought Mercer’s message of peace of mind and economic freedom to healthcare professionals for years. This will be a great time of the year to visit beautiful Door County and enjoy its color and natural beauty.
